Our journey to getting fit and getting healthy started when we went to the doctor to get our annual physical exam in 2013. The doctor told both us and that we were overweight and that we needed to lose at least 15-20 lbs or we would have to take medication for the rest of our lives. Making the decision to “lose the weight” was easy, but making it happen was a different story.
We started going to the gym at first, then started various workout dvds such as Insanity, P90X, etc. We changed the way we ate by moderation mostly. We lost a good amount of weight, but we then hit a plateau which was disappointing yet we knew it would happen. Giving up was not a option.
So, I started going to Studio SWEAT in August of 2016 when my very good friend referred me. My husband, Josh, started attending classes right after. Man, is he hooked years late. We both are!
The classes are so fun & motivating, and the trainers there are so amazing. What I really enjoy about Studio SWEAT is the dynamics of everybody is there for the same reason, to be healthy, and to have some fun getting and being there.
Fast forward to today, I’ve lost at least 30lbs and Josh has lost 40lbs. We’ve kept the weight off for 6 years!
The best advice we would give to anyone is, “It didn’t happen overnight, it will take time. Be patient, you’ll have your “moments of frustration”, but keep going. It’s always you against you. Do it for yourself. And if you want help along the way… GO TO STUDIO SWEAT!
